Oficialii companiilor producătoare de vending machines din Winnipeg, se plâng că au cheltuit mii de dolari, pentru a modifica aparatele să accepte noua bancnotă canadiană de 20 de dolari.
Cel puţin o companie, Vend-Tec Group, spune că îi va costa mai mult de 25,000 de mii de dolari, ca să upgradeze aparatele, să poată accepta noile bancote, iar mai mult de 30,000 de mii de dolari fiind deja cheltuiţi pe programarea aparatelor să poată accepta ultimele monezi de 2 dolari respectiv un dolar.
“Este frustrant” a declarat vicepreşedintele companiei Vend-Tec, Collin Stone, pentru CBC.
Bank of Canada a dat furnizorilor o perioadă de şase luni, să îşi upradeze aparatele, înainte ca bancnota de 20 de dolari să fie pusă în circulaţie, în luna noiembrie a anului 2012.
O altă companie din Winnipeg, Quality Vending, a declarat că bancnota a fost schimbată după ce deja îşi upgradase 50 dintre aparate, forţând astfel personalul să facă un al doilea tur de upgrade-uri costisitoare.

Officials with vending machine companies in Winnipeg say they have had to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade their machines to accept Canada’s new $20 bill.
At least one company, Vend-Tec Group, says it will cost upwards of $25,000 to replace all of its vending machines to accept the new notes, on top of the $30,000 it has already spent upgrading the same machines to accept the latest $2 and $1 coins.
“It is frustrating,” Collin Stone, Vend-Tec’s vice-president, told CBC News on Tuesday.
The Bank of Canada said it gave vendors six months to upgrade their machines before the new $20 bills went into circulation in November.
But another Winnipeg company, Quality Vending, says the bill was changed after it had already changed 50 of its machines, forcing staff to do a second round of costly upgrades.
