Dacă aceste două proiecte de lege vor trece, atunci doar legiuitorul Mississippi va fi unica autoritate care va adopta reglementări pentru etichetarea nutriţiei alimentelor şi băuturilor din restaurante şi aparatele de vending.

If these two bills shall pass, than the Mississippi Legislature will be sole authority to enact regulations for nutrition labeling of food and beverages in restaurants and for vending machines.
The bills in Mississippi’s House and Senate would prevent local governments and municipalities from enacting their own rules for food labeling, including designating items “healthy” or “unhealthy.” They would also put conditions on any permit, license, regulatory approval based on the provision of nutrition information.
The nutrition labeling under existing federal law will not be affected by these bills. The administration faces an April deadline to finalize the rule on “Food Labeling: Nutrition Labeling of Standard Menu Items in Restaurants and Similar Retail Food Establishments.”
A deadline has still not been set for publishing the final calorie-disclosure rules that will apply to those vending operations with 20 or more machines.
